In every walk with Nature one receives more than one seeks.

About

My journey to launching jojourneys probably began many moons ago with learning to orienteer in thick fog on the Malvern Hills aged 10½, discovering that maps and compasses actually work and feeling the sense of freedom that follows.

Through the years since then, I have explored further, travelling to Australia, trekking to 6000m in the Himalayas in Nepal, sailing in the UK, trekking in Canada and Corsica. It has always been the journey involved in each of these ventures that has driven me, absorbing and responding to the environment along the way.

Eventually, having spent 10 years as a Biology teacher, I realised I was happiest in the outdoors and I became a Mountain Leader in 2003.  I have spent the last 11 years leading expeditions overseas and training and assessing Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expeditions, as well as working on team-building and leadership events.

This has culminated in my qualifying as an International Mountain Leader in 2012.  This means that I am qualified to take people trekking and snow-shoeing all over the world.

I am passionate about sharing the beautiful environment I work in, ideally with people in person but also through my photography and finding appropriate quotes to enrich the impact of the pictures… And maybe now through writing…

I also enjoy cooking and eating, reading, photography, travelling, and the night sky.
